MOVING INTO YEAR 11 SUMMER TRANSITION 2026

The period between Year 10 and Year 11 is a crucial moment in your GCSE journey. It is important that you have a good rest over the Summer so that you are ready for the final stretch towards your GCSEs in Year 11.

It is, however, vital that you use these summer holidays to:

  • Ensure you catch up on any missed Year 10 work
  • Revise topics that you didn't perform as well on in your end of year 10 assessments so that you feel confident starting Year 11
  • Complete any subject specific tasks as outlined below
  • Read, read, read (a range of any books)
“Reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s future success” — OECD, 2002

We hope this booklet along with advice you have had from your teachers will help to meet the aims above.

Hope you have a fantastic break and looking forward to seeing you in September as Year 11s!
